
The Museum of Yakub
Kolas is a leading cultural center where the history of life and creativity of
one of founders of the Belarusian language and literature is preserved. The
museum is situated in the house where Jakub Kolas from 1945 to 1956 lived. The
status of the only memorial estate in Minsk defines its uniqueness among other
literary museums of the capital. The museum, which fixed assets consists of
32240 units (2012), keeps personal belongings of the poet and his family, the
book, the manuscript, documents, artworks which immortalize an image of the
national poet and characters of his works. The museum was established on August
16, 1956. It was opened for visit on December 4, 1959.
